My college sweetheart and I have lived in and renovated seven houses — this one’s the last. It’s a 130-year-old Folk Victorian that’s actually on the National Register of Historic Places, which still feels made up when I say it out loud. It’s also nowhere near finished, and I show it that way.
I share the real process of making a home — the ideas, the choices, the finds, the opinions, and the mistakes I’d take back — so you can carry something home to your own.
No perfect house · No designer budget
No completely finished life
Twenty years of collecting taught me what lasts and what I wasted money on, and I’ll tell you both. I can date a piece of antique pottery by its maker’s mark — completely useless at parties, extremely useful for buying antiques.
Three kids 👧🧒🧑, two dogs 🐶, and I’m still lobbying for chickens 🐔.
